Ruhig.

Wild swimming is growing in popularity throughout the UK this summer, especially in Scotland where there are endless hidden gems to explore, be it deep river pools, coastal shores or mountainous lochs. I was asked by my client to document some of their coastal swimming locations for this shoot which was great fun – as I got to don my wetsuit and join them in the sea!

Getting ready to get in

Being confident in the water is a really useful skill for a shoot like this. Through my experience in my own personal swimming, as well as work as a Coasteering (read: cliff jumping) instructor I’m able to look after myself effectively, which leaves me free to focus on getting the shots!

A peaceful moment enjoying the sunset

A specialised waterproof dive housing was needed to protect the camera from the elements, enabling me to get some very high quality photos that would have otherwise been impossible.

an immersive experience

The ability to take my camera into often alien or challenging environments is something that I really enjoy developing through interesting shoots like this!

Time for a cup of tea and a cosy towel!

If you have an idea for a shoot, but aren’t sure if it can be done, please do get in touch! I love taking on new and interesting challenges.
